The text in the type dropdown box and in the recommendation input field are way too light to be read easily. They should be darkened quite a bit.

On my homepage, if I add an item, click on a link to a detail view of the item and then hit the back arrow, my recommendation is no longer visible. I have to hit reload to see it.

Integration with social platforms, it's the future!

The box on the right-hand side of the logged-in homepage that shows recommendation counts should update in real time as you add more recs. This is especially important for giving new users immediate satisfaction for adding new recs.

Under books, I find myself wanting to add Series (LOTR, Earthsea) and authors, as well as books. Likewise, it'd be good to be able to add Artists, Albums, Composers (e.g. Bach) and possibly even Songs. We'll need to think how this changes creating and displaying items, but I think it's needed.

Members of a musical group should be linked to their own topic page (For musical artist).
